Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Sandy Lake First Nation- Independent First Nation (No Tribal Council affiliation)

Provides culturally appropriate education, programs and support to improve the health of expectant First Nation women and their babies- Promotes pre/post natal nutrition and healthy lifestyles
- Provides information and support for all stages of pregnancy, including preparation for labour and delivery
- Provides breastfeeding education and information
- Offers adult and teen individual and group prenatal classes
- Offers home and hospital visits
- Provides infant formula and baby food to individuals in an emergency situation
- Provides an infant weigh scale for use anytime
- Provides referrals to other supports and services
- Provides cultural craft times and teachings
Nutrition Education- Teaches about shopping on a budget
- Advises on pre/postnatal nutrition and food supplements
