Child and Youth Outreach Worker: Mon-Fri 3 pm-11 pm
Service Description: The Dryden Area Family Health Team includes: Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Occupational Therapist, Registered Pyschotherapist, Patient Care Navigator and Administration
  • Family Health Teams allow physicians and other allied health providers to work as a team to focus on keeping patients healthy
  • The vision calls for physicians, nurse practitioners and other members of the team to practice together in a positive working environment, sharing and benefiting from the complementary knowledge and skills of their colleagues


Promotes the development of good mental health and provides services for individuals with mental health issues
Provides counselling and information for the following issues:
  • Chronic disease management including coping skills and depression
  • Communication concerns
  • Emotional eating (not disorders)
  • Family conflict, divorce, separation and blended family issues
  • Life issues that affect individuals and/or families such as but not limited to bullying, caregiver support, injury/illness, job loss and relocation
  • Relationship issues
  • Smoking cessation
  • Stress management (individual and group counselling sessions)

Fees: None; Most services covered by OHIP
Application: Registration required
Eligibility / Target Population:
  • Individuals 16 years of age and older struggling with issues that affect mental health wellness

  • Children and youth younger than 18 years of age can call the Outreach Worker for services
