Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Pays Plat First Nation

Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, Nipigon office
  • Ambulance/Hospital services available at McCausland Hospital in Terrace Bay, 44 km E of Pays Plat
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through OPP, Schreiber Satellite Office
  • Provides amenities to community members including Community Hall, Church, Arena, Fire Hall, Water Plant and Pow Wow Grounds
  • Offers a Business Centre which contains the Health Centre, a Gas & Variety Store, a Day Care Centre and offices
  • Provides a privately-operated business called Smoke Signals Firewood which sells/delivers firewood to community members and surrounding areas
  • Home to many artisans, creating snow shoes and canoes, bead work and paintings
  • Provides basic health care and health programs at the Pays Plat Health Centre
  • Operates a Volunteer Fire Department
