Service Description:
  • Operates a fully-accredited, 60-bed acute care facility and provides an array of services
  • Administers the William A 'Bill' George Extended Care Facility


  • Emergency room care
    • Provides 24-hour coverage by on-site or on-call physicians, advanced technological and diagnostic capabilities, and additional specialty services
    • Provides immediate treatment for emergency situations - including acute or life-threatening illnesses or injuries
    Sexual Assault and Partner Abuse Care Program
    • Provides initial emergency care only with the patient's informed consent
    • Provides follow-up services accessible through the Victim Treatment Centre (VTC) follow-up Nurse

    Fees: None - Most services covered by OHIP

    • Required to present valid Ontario Health Insurance card (OHIP) or applicable medical insurance information

    • Recommended to present list of all medications
    Eligibility / Target Population: Individuals in an emergency or life-threatening situation who require immediate medical attention
