Service Description: Operates a medical clinic

Provides services that promote physical and mental health for community members
  • Coordinates health care services through a health team that consists of Community Health Nurse and Community Health Representative
  • Coordinates Physician consultations weekly through visiting Physicians from Kenora and other locations
  • Coordinates dentist appointments twice per month
  • Provides health awareness and counselling, education and prevention workshops especially in the areas of diabetes and alcohol/drug abuse
  • Coordinates clinics/workshops in areas that may include Diabetes, Foot Care, Immunization, Sexual Health and Communicable Diseases
  • Publishes a monthly newsletter which is mailed out to area residents
Addresses individual health care needs by providing:
  • Advocacy on behalf of individual with other health professionals
  • Coordination of one-on-one prenatal care with the community health nurse
  • Home visits to the sick, elderly, new mothers and persons with health care needs
  • Assistance with coordinating local and long distance travel arrangements for medical appointments
