Text with 9-1-1 service available in Conmee Twp, Dorion Twp, Fort William First Nation, Fowler Twp, Gillies Twp, Gorham Twp, Jacques Twp, Lake Helen First Nation, Lybster Twp, Lyon Twp, Marathon, Marks Twp, Neebing Twp, Nipigon Twp, O'Connor Twp, Oliver Paipoonge Twp, Pays Plat First Nation, Red Rock Twp, Rossport, Schreiber Twp, Shuniah Twp, Strange Twp, Stirling Twp, Terrace Bay Twp and Ware Twp to enable the deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or speech impaired (DHHSI) community to converse with 9-1-1 call centres using text messaging. You must register for T9-1-1 with your wireless service provider, and you must have a compatible cell phone. T9-1-1 should only be used for emergency situations that require a response from police, fire or emergency medical services

  • Provides police services focusing on the following:
    • Assistance to victims of crime
    • Crime prevention
    • Emergency response, including canine tracking and search and rescue
    • Law enforcement
    • Public order maintenance (protests and riots)
    • Provides criminal reference checks
    MedicAlert Connect Protect
    • Collaboration between MedicAlert and the OPP to ensure police officers have direct 24/7 access to important information about people who have a tendency to wander, including those living with autism, Alzheimer's, dementia or other cognitive brain injuries
    • Gives police officers 24-hour access to a registered subscriber's photo, identifying information, past wandering history, triggers, de-escalation techniques and other information through the MedicAlert database
