Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug

Operates a treatment centre for community members struggling with oxycodone addiction
  • Operates as a 25-day program for a maximum of 6 individuals per program
  • Administers medications to minimize the effects of withdrawal
  • Alternates between men and women intakes
Program includes the following services:
  • Intake
  • Detoxification and withdrawal treatment
  • Counselling
  • Sharing circles
  • Traditional land-based activities
  • Aftercare
Also provides:
  • Mental health and addictions counselling
  • Referrals to other treatment centres and programs such as Nodin Child & Family Intervention Services in Sioux Lookout

Application:
  • Open to referrals from any source

  • Requires intake application and medical assessment

  • Program is completely voluntary
Eligibility / Target Population:
  • Members of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug struggling with oxycodone addiction

  • Requires completed application and medical assessment

  • Program alternates between male and female intakes

  • Each participant must undergo drug testing before being allowed to graduate
