Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Kasabonika First Nation

Provides services and programs to enhance the lives of pregnant women and families with infants and young children
  • Provides screening of new mothers
  • Offers individual counselling services for pregnancy, child development concerns and related issues
  • Promotes breast feeding
  • Offers welcome home bags with baby supplies to all new mothers
  • Provides baby supplies to low-income families
Offers education and information on various topics including:
  • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) awareness
  • Child nutrition issues
  • Healthy cooking and shopping for families
  • Prenatal nutrition

Application: Intake assessment required
Eligibility / Target Population:
  • Members of Kasabonika Lake First Nation who are pregnant or new parents with children up to 18 months of age

  • Provides long term support for families who require additional services

  • Low-income families eligible for baby supplies; contact Program Coordinator
