Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Couchiching First Nation

  • Coordinates a toy lending library and delivers programs and services in conjunction with the Aboriginal Healthy Babies Healthy Children (AHBHC) program to promote child development and to enhance the lives of both child and parent
  • Offers daily/weekly rotating activities such as arts and crafts, baking, circle and story times, cultural activities and teachings, swimming and educational sessions on topics such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
  • Regular programs can include but are not limited to:
    • Community Kitchen
    • Cooking With Kids
    • Drop In Play and Learn Sessions
    • Mini Chef Program
    • Moms and Babes
    Toy Lending Library
    • Lends a variety of toys and equipment such as playpens and strollers for use at home for a maximum of 2 weeks
    • Provides monthly milk coupons for pre/post natal families

    Application: Registration forms available at office


    Milk Coupons: Available once per month from Toy Library Coordinator
    Eligibility / Target Population: Indigenous children 0-6 years of age and their families




    Parents/family members are required to:

    • Be a registered member of Couchiching First Nation

    • Attend all activities with children

    • Be a member of the Toy Lending Library

    • Parent/s are required to attend all activities/workshops related to pregnancy
