Service Description:
|
Provides an alternative Native child welfare program which is administered by each of the Rainy Lake Tribal Area First Nations communities
Provides psychiatric assistance for children and their families through video conferencing
- Offers consultations, diagnosis and treatment from professionals at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto
- Recommends the child/client accessing telepsychiatry retain a counsellor or family doctor who can provide follow-up services
- Provides educational seminars and training programs for agencies on any of the related topics

- Anxiety disorders
- Attachment disorders
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Behavioural disorders
- Child and sexual abuse
- Depression/mood disorders
- Developmental delays
- Eating disorders
- Family issues
- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
- Infant psychiatry
- Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD)
- Psychiatric medications
- Psychosis
- School problems
- Speech and language

Referral required; accepted from doctors, counsellors or agencies that provide mental health services for children and their families
|
Eligibility / Target Population:
|
- Must be a member of any of the 9 First Nations communities in the Rainy Lake Tribal Region either on/off-reserve
- Children and youth 17 years of age and younger with emotional and/or behavioural problems that require additional help
NOTE: Children do not have to be in care with an agency to access services
