Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Rainy River First Nation

Delivers medical transportation services and assistance in making medical appointment arrangements
  • Provides transportation from/to Rainy River First Nations Reserve to any medical appointments (doctor, dentist, optometrist) in the towns of Emo and Fort Frances; exceptions for travel to Rainy River will be made on a case-by-case basis
  • Provides assistance with completing prior approval applications for long distance medical appointments

Fees: None
Application: Van bookings are to be arranged with Laura or Juanita

  • Requires written proof of medical appointment

  • Requires 24 hour advance booking; exceptions made for emergencies

  • Advance cancellation recommended
Eligibility / Target Population: Members of Rainy River First Nations who require assistance with medical transportation due to illness, injury or age
