Promotes healthy lifestyles and prevention of disease and its complicationsOffers individual and group counsellingHosts baby food making workshopsSupervises individual and group grocery store tours to educate individuals on making healthy food choices, food budgeting and label readingTopics addressed include:
- Celiac disease
- Cholestrol and heart health
- Diabetes prevention and management
- Healthy eating and lifestyle
- Hypertension
- Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Breast Feeding Program
- Offers nutrition advice during pregnancy
- Offers breast feeding education
- Provides loan of breast pump on first-come basis
Healthy Living Food Box
- Operates a community-based food purchasing system that makes fresh fruits and vegetables available to participants
- Charges a small fee each month from participants in exchange for a large box of fresh fruits and vegetables
