  • Reserve is only accessible by air year-round and a seasonal winter road from Windigo Lake north through Muskrat Dam

Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Bearskin Lake First Nation

Provides various health benefits to individuals and families with high health costs
Benefits are determined based on need and may include:
  • basic dental care
  • diabetic supplies
  • eyeglasses
  • hearing aids
  • prescription drugs
  • surgical supplies and dressings
  • transportation for medical appointments

Fees: None
Application: Individuals can apply by contacting the office
Eligibility / Target Population: Members of Bearskin Lake First Nation aged 16-65 years




Individuals and families who:

  • were eligible for Ontario Works in the previous months, or

  • are no longer eligible for Ontario Works because they received a payment for loss of income under the 1986-1990 Hepatitis C Settlement Agreement
