Service Description:
  • Operates an emergency shelter for abused women and their children
  • Responds to a 24-hour crisis line that is accessible via phone or text
  • Operates a ten-unit transitional housing program


  • Provides safe housing to all women 16 years of age and older, with or without dependents, who experience or are at risk of experiencing violence and/or abuse, for up to 24 months
  • Assists abused women in making the transition to an abuse-free life
  • Helps secure and maintain housing, and helps develop an individual safety and transitional plan
  • Supports women to live free from violence by connecting them with necessary community support such as employment, housing, counselling, parenting support, education upgrading, job training, income support, legal aid and health and wellness services
  • Prioritizes the safety and well-being of women and their children
  • Assists women in identifying the choices and resources available for them and their children
  • Accommodations consist of the following:
    • Offers 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units, including some accessible units
    • ?Each unit comes equipped with a fridge and stove; laundry facilities are located on the bottom floor
    • An indoor common room allows for on-site support group and may be used by all residents
    • Also provides an indoor play room for children and group activities for them, as well as an outdoor area that is a safe place for resident activities

    Eligibility / Target Population: Women 16 years of age and older who have been physically, sexually, financially or emotionally abused and their children
