  • Reserve is only accessible by air year-round and a seasonal winter road from Windigo Lake north through Muskrat Dam

Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Bearskin Lake First Nation

  • Responsible for planning, developing and implementing all social, recreational and special events for members of the community from school aged to elders
  • Provides recreational services at the community arena dedicated as the Roger McKay Jr Memorial Arena
  • Operates a community youth centre and offers the following:
    • Pool tables, ping pong tables and a foosball table
    • Gymnasium for sports such as volleyball
    • Computer room with 3 computers with Internet access
    • Media equipment room for movies and games
    • Workshops for children, youth and families (ie baking classes for girls)
    • Use of centre for birthday parties
    Coordinates and supervises a variety of programs including:
    • Competitive sports events for hockey, soccer and broomball
    • Floor hockey nights twice a week, coordinated by Tikinagan Prevention Program
    • Dances
    • Movie nights
    Youth Camps
    • Offers a youth summer camp at the log cabins on Severn Lake
    • Provides a variety of recreational and cultural activities

    Application: Youth Camp attendance requires prior arrangements and registration
