Service Description: Administers and delivers social services to the citizens of the District of Kenora

Manages the provision of children's services and programs through formal cooperative funding and oversight arrangements with several municipal, non-profit and for profit service providers

Subsidized Child Care
  • Provides financial assistance towards the cost of child care fee services for eligible parents, foster parents or legal guardians
  • Provides a list of licensed child care facilities on the website
EarlyON Initiative
  • Provides funding to EarlyON Child and Family Centres
  • Offers an expansion of quality and affordable child care and investments in every child's healthy early development, working in partnership with parents and families
  • Provides a list of EarlyON Child and Family Centre locations on the website
Special Needs Resource Services
  • Ensures that all children, regardless of need, can participate in the child care setting of their families' choice
  • Assists child care centres in supporting children with special needs
  • Prepares individual program plans
  • Provides support to caregivers in carrying out daily activities for each special needs child
Ontario Works Child Care
  • Provides funding, if available, for Ontario Works recipients who are taking part in approved activities
  • Funding is to help pay for child care expenses in either Licensed Child Care Facilities or with Informal Care Providers
