Service Description:
  • Addresses public health issues and promotes healthy living
  • Administers health promotion and disease prevention programs within the Kenora and Rainy River Districts


  • Provides basic preventive and restorative dental services through a mobile dental office for children and adults who do not have access to dental care
    • Provides dental services for recipients of the Healthy Smiles Ontario Program (HSO), Ontario Disability Support Pension (ODSP), Ontario Works (OW) and Non-Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB)
    • Provides information on preventive dental health practices

    Eligibility / Target Population: Residents of Northwestern Ontario for whom dental care is a financial problem may be eligible for free dental services; contact dental team for assessment




    Healthy Smiles Ontario

    Children must be:

    • 17 years of age and younger

    • a resident of Ontario and

    • a member of a household with an Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI) at or under the levels shown here


    Non-Insured Health Benefits

    • Required to present status card


    Ontario Disability Support (ODSP)

    • Required to present dental card issued by ODSP


    Ontario Works (OW)

    • Requires dental card issued by the Ontario Works' office; proof of eligibility for the month must be shown
