Service Description:
|
Responsible for providing wholistic health programs and services for Indigenous people in the Rainy River District
Works to provide health care services surrounding problematic alcohol and substance use issues and mental health issues- Provides individual, couples and family mental health counselling
- Provides counselling for problematic alcohol and substance use pre-treatment, out-patient treatment and aftercare services
- Offers referrals to community supports and services
Counselling Team Services include:- Addiction Support Services
- Anger Management Support
- Community Based Workshops
- Community Support Services
- Crisis Management/Counselling
- Elder Support
- Grief Recovery Programming
- Individual Grief Counselling
Treatment Team Services include:- Case management services
- Intake, assessment, and program orientation
- Pre-treatment support and programming
- Out-Patient support and programming
- Aftercare support and programming
- Referrals for continuing services with First Nation community service providers, other internal agency programs, and external resources

- Open to referrals from any source including self-referrals
- Prefers that requests for service are received directly from the individual and/or family
|
Eligibility / Target Population:
|
- Pre-treatment, out-patient and after care for clients with substance abuse issues is available for individuals 18 years of age and older and/or families from any of the 10 First Nation communities in the Fort Frances Tribal area
- Family units receiving counselling can include children younger than the age of 18 years
- Offers referrals to children 17 years and younger (who are not part of family counselling) to appropriate mental health counselling services
