Service Description: Offers services, products, and information that remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing

Offers counselling services to help adults improve communication with family and friends, stay involved in social activities, and stay safe and independent at home

Counsels on issues related to coping with hearing loss such as:
  • Understanding your hearing loss
  • Use, care and maintenance of hearing aids and other listening systems
  • Managing difficult listening situations
  • Selecting specialized communication equipment, such as telephones, alarm clocks, television accessories
  • Referrals to other community services
Communication Devices

Provides information, demonstration and assistance with:
  • Assistive Listening Devices such as Personal FM and Infrared systems
  • Specialized telephones such as amplified, Voice Carry Over (VCO) and TTYs
  • Alerting devices such as fire/smoke, doorbell, phone, baby cry
Education
  • Offers education and training to consumers, family members, caregivers and the general public

Eligibility / Target Population: Communication Devices: Individuals who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing

Education: Open to all

  • Individuals 55 years of age and older who have hearing loss

  • Individuals 19 years of age and younger who have other challenges as well as hearing loss who require home-based services
