Meal Delivery: Mon-Fri 10:30 am-12:30 pm
Service Description: Governed by an elected council of 13 members: the Mayor, 5 Councillors-at-Large and 7 Ward Councillors, municipal elections are held every 4 years

  • Provides a home-delivered nourishing meal to individuals who are unable to prepare a meal on their own
  • Prepares meals according to individuals' diet requirements (includes hot soup and a hot entrée consisting of meat, starch, two types of vegetables and cold dessert)
  • Delivers meals through volunteers who provide regular social contact and check on the health and safety of the client
  • Offers volunteer opportunities for adults, service groups, corporate volunteers and students as drivers or servers

    Application:
    • Referral and application can be made by anyone (relative, friend, the prospective client, social worker, nurse, doctor)

    • Cancellations can be made 24/7, but to avoid charges call before 9 am on the day of delivery


    Volunteer Application is available on the website and can be submitted to the Program Manager at Pioneer Ridge, 750 Tungsten St
    Eligibility / Target Population:
    • Individuals 18 years of age and older who are unable to prepare adequate and nourishing meals on a day-to-day basis due to chronic illness or convalescence, lack of strength, skill, motivation, or cooking facilities

    • Individuals who do not have anyone else in the household able to help prepare meals

    • Individuals must be able to feed themselves, manage on weekends and be home to receive the meal

    • Respite care for family caregivers
