Service Description: Offers services, products, and information that remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing

Offers services, products, and information that remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing
Administers the following programs and services:
  • Audiological Assessments
  • Ear wax removal
  • Hearing aid and custom ear plugs sales and services
  • Hearing screening
  • Hearing Healthcare Services including hearing aid repair
  • Tinnitus counselling and management
Home Visits
Provides individual and family counselling in individuals home and can include counselling on issues related to coping with hearing loss such as:
  • Understanding your hearing loss
  • Use, care and maintenance of hearing aids and other listening systems
  • Managing difficult listening situations
  • Selecting specialized communication equipment, i.e. telephones, alarm clocks, television accessories
  • Referrals to other community services

  • Requires booked appointments

  • Late appointments (after 4 pm) available upon request

  • Home visits available upon request

  • Audiology appointments available at Pinecrest and Birchwood Nursing Homes upon request
Eligibility / Target Population: Individuals aged 3 years of age and older who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing
