Service Description: The largest Veterans service organization in Canada; the mission is to serve veterans, which includes serving military and RCMP members and their families, to promote remembrance and to serve community and country

  • Provides a service club for Veterans, including military and Royal Canadian Mounted Police members in active service
  • Focuses mainly on and promotes remembrance of the men and women who gave their lives serving in wars and military missions around the world
  • Sponsors programs for seniors, community, housing, Long Term Care, youth, education, sports and Cadets, Guides and Scouts
  • Supports other organizations financially, particularly medical facilities and equipment
  • Provides hall rentals and catering for events
  • Funds educational bursaries
  • Coordinates the annual poppy campaign fundraiser and various fundraising events
  • Seniors Group
    • Coordinates a weekly social activity of carpet bowling
    • Provides a luncheon after the social activity

    Operates on a drop-in basis for carpet bowling and lunch
    Eligibility / Target Population: Must be 18 years of age and older

    • Membership open to all Canadian veterans as well as serving and former members of the Canadian Forces, RCMP, The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, other police forces, fire departments and their dependents, and Canadians who subscribe to the purposes and objects of the organization

    • Membership also open to members of the general public who are Canadian citizens

    • Educational bursaries are only available to graduating high school students with at least 1 parent as a Legion member
